Stanford University offers a variety of tours for visitors and prospective students. Visitors can sign up for a Stanford University campus tour at the Visitor Information Services (VIS) office at 295 Galvez Street. VIS offers free, one-hour tours at 11am and 3:15pm every day except select holidays and winter break. Visitors can also pick up a Stanford University campus map at the VIS office for a self-guided tour. Prospective students can arrange a campus tour specific to their needs through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

The Stanford University campus is home to more than classrooms and lecture halls. Stanford University offers a variety of interesting attractions and things to do located throughout the campus that are open to the public. The Arizona Garden, planted by the Stanfords in the 1880s, is a 17,000-square foot cacti and succulent garden. The Cantor Arts Center features 24 art galleries, sculpture gardens, and the largest collection outside of Paris of bronze artwork by Rodin. Standing 285 feet tall, the Hoover Tower is the university's landmark. The Tower's observation deck is open to the public and features 48 bells and panoramic views of the Santa Clara valley. Docent-led tours of Hanna House, designed by Frand Lloyd Wright, are offered the second and fourth Saturday of the month and the first and third Sunday of the month, unless otherwise noted.
